Desi Arnaz (A book)

When Desi Arnaz wrote a book about himself he entitled it simply (A Book), it is not worthy to call things by more than what they are!

That is his life and motto in short, he loved to live simply and honestly to himself. His honesty is apparent in his autobiography, his faults and vices are there just as his ambition and successes. He even doesn't brag about some of the substantial successes he achieved in his life and were the source of his bride and happiness!

I will mention a few; he didn't mention his position as the chairman of Viva Nixon and his support to the president, which made him an advisor to the committee concerned with Latin Americans, he also didn't mention his position as a visiting professor in the San Diego University where he mentored and taught students acting, directing and the sense of Hollywood business!

He didn't mention his life with his second wife Edith, whom he adored and loved, his romantic encounter with her that lead to their marriage, and was devastated after her death. He didn't mention his pride in his own children success, which is one of the reasons he had great relationship with Lucy and her husband Gary Morton!

He also didn't mention his role in helping his fellow country men in the Pay of Pigs prisoners situation, and how he collected the money from the American Government to free them.

So he skipped some of his achievements, so what, the book still an awesome read and candid biography to those who loved the "I love Lucy" show , or those who loved Desi's music or those who are interested in the history of TV in general!

Just enjoy!

A side note, you will find this book out of print and very expensive to get as used , but you can still read it online for free either through internet archives.
