Another debate or false accusation is he could not dance!!
I will just take you to two separate occasions, both without Lucy to remove the comedic timing and all that!
The first one is in "Holiday in Havana" closing scene, where he sang the title song with "Mary Hatcher", he is not only dancing, he is jumping in the air drumming while dancing!
Others claims he had a problem with timing, I tell them to see how he danced with "Betty Grable" in "Horse race" episode from the final "Lucy and Desi comedy hours". Their timing and moves are perfect!
I will not mention other occasions on "I love Lucy episodes" , but can't you see the "Lady in red" and others. Just limiting him to this single dance on "Too Many girls" opposite Ann Miller, where he is supposed to lose his ground is just too harsh!
He wasn’t called as the king of Rumba for no reason and the sole initiator of "The Desi Chain"!
I will tell an opinion that is not mentioned before and it seems odd that after all those years and nobody is talking about it, Desi's style in singing, jumpsuit wearing, dancing and even some of his music is copied later by Elvis, don't forget the time gap between the two which was about twenty years, he was the God-father or ancestor of Elvis, and this is coming from an Elvis Fanatic!
