Can you believe it!
And I don't mean that it was written about Desi ALONE, some other Latin stars who shaped the Latin music in America while having their initial roots in Cuba were mentioned too, but he was at the start of the book without Lucy!
Life on the hyphen refers to the Latin musicians who were born elsewhere and then in their teens were Americanized, mostly due to political or social reasons! Thus they carry a double incomplete culture of both their original country and their dream country, they are not just one culture, they are one and a half cultures!
